As Principal of Dinajpur School of LIBERATORS, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website. We thank you for taking the time to visit. We hope to provide you with some useful information.
Dinajpur School of LIBERATORS, an English Medium School welcomes and encourages diversity in the school community and seeks to provide an environment which supports students, regardless of gender, race, religion or ethnic background. Immerse a child in an atmosphere of intellectual excitement, challenge and vigor created by the educators and students, so that ethically, mentally and physically sound liberators are crafted who will bring cultural, economical, political liberty for the nation. Dinajpur School of LIBERATORS is a co-educational school, follows Cambridge International Examination Board’s curriculum.
Values practiced by the students here are acceptance, empathy, friendship, freedom, honesty, humility, positivity, patriotism, resilience, responsibility, thoughtfulness and unity.
Dinajpur School of LIBERATORS intend to equip a student with the following abilities:
And to do so aside regular academic classes school ensures regular library, science laboratory, computer laboratory, public speaking, general knowledge and current affair classes. One club from the clubs like drama, debate, arts and crafts, music and science activity twice a week is a must; evaluation of the club is given with the term end card. Ample chances to play games are there for all the students. Students perform social work so that they become responsible about society. Various national and international days are observed within or out of school that make them aware about various incidence or issues.
Students are encouraged and coached to participate competitions like olympiads, debate, science fair, various cultural activities.
While selecting any student for the school or from the school, we never judge his /her marks or grades. We judge them taking the following items in consideration like reading / writing ability, understanding ability, creativity, eagerness to learn, response in class, depth of the subject and independent learning ability. Also the student is judged for his/her ethical values while selecting.
We've gone through various syllabuses and curriculums but the flexibility we found in Cambridge is way different from others. Flexibility for example, being a student from Bangladesh we expect a child to know the history, geography, society, culture of Bangladesh and is possible here in Cambridge syllabus without even going through any particular textbook.
Cambridge curriculum is so student-centered and applied in its nature that teachers or the educators easily can take passive role keeping students active. Yet the topics are described so well in Cambridge syllabuses maintaining age level which ensures clear depth of knowledge in all subjects.
Learning and teaching materials are so available for both the students and teachers.
And we are teaching Cambridge syllabuses for more the ten years and become skilled to teach. When a new teacher is recruited in the school, s/he passes a series of tests to be sure about his/her willingness, attitude, learning tendency, handling capability, creativity etc. Then s/he is kept as probationary teacher for a tenure of 3 months under an experienced senior teacher. And s/he is recruited finally if shows overall abilities.
We all the teachers sit together every month to discuss happenings and problems teachers face to teach a subject or grade or a particular student.
We also have some teachers who are teaching CIE syllabuses for long and attended training too. We also have teachers who completed B.Ed. and M.Ed. and are highly skilled to teach. School arrange training for teachers with the help of those teachers time to time.
We also arrange session for teachers whenever we find any expert, well-informed, knowledgeable and proficient person is present among us.
The whole year of schooling here is divided in 3 terms. Before starting of every term, number of days and classes for every subject is counted to design the syllabus content to be taught. Every teacher makes unit lesson plan and daily class plan as well. So that smooth and continuous progress of all the subjects are maintained. Unit lesson plans are made keeping the weakest student in mind. Therefore students get enough time to understand lesson, become confident, responsible, provide feedback and at last performs well.
To ensure quality teaching and learning daily lesson plan helps the most, because teachers planning of the whole class starting from brain activation to passing information to practicing and reviewing to taking feedback is noted explicitly in the daily class plan. Section heads monitor the whole process and updates principal every week.
Class tests and term-end exams are planned earlier and students are informed, so that, regular classes and students learning is not hampered.
The way we think a teacher should think and perform is described below. And school always try to train teachers to act accordingly.
Cambridge qualifications supports student centered education and knowledge based education as well. And to teach Cambridge qualification a teacher must learn to develop students understanding ability and make them learn in a variety of ways. Teacher should make the student confident enough so that he can learn independently.
A teacher for Cambridge qualification must have profound knowledge about his/her subject and skilled to make students understand in a variety of ways. A teacher here must be taking classes in such a organised manner that the whole syllabus is covered very well within specified time.
